The DooWah Sisters are Allison and Connie Bigelow. Allison and Connie grew up in Detroit, Michigan during the heyday of Motown. They began singing harmonies together while listening to records and doing the dishes. The Sisters broke into the Seattle music scene singing back up vocals for local musicians Janis Carper, Heidi Muller and Larry Murante. They were members of the Distractions which became the Extractions and now perform as a duo, trio or full band with a repertoire of vintage and contemporary folk, folk-rock, rock and blues.
